China is highly populated and public transport is not the solution at all times and commuting can be mundane and exhausting. While many travel long distances for their work, a new video making the rounds on social media shows how deep one man, literally goes down as he travels for his job in Chongqing.

Many older cities, like Chongqing, were built on uneven terrain. As they modernized, the historical reliance on steps remained part of the urban fabric.

The video starts with the man yawning and starting his day as he gets ready to go to work and the timelapse video shows how he descends endless stairs that pass through roads, markets, and even the subway.

He takes almost 20 flights downstairs and it does not end there and he still goes down 4 floors to finally reach his office. The video was posted with a caption saying, “Man shows how far down he has to go to get to work in Chongqing, China.”
