Caught on camera: Mother sees son with girlfriend, does roka on the spot!
A video from an Indian metro station is going viral, and not for the usual reasons. In the clip, a mother spots her son standing with his girlfriend and decides to turn the moment into a full-on roka ceremony, right there at the station.
Yes, with sweets, fruits, and blessings included.
The video, shared on X, shows the woman calmly sitting next to the young couple. She hands sweets and fruits to the girl, just like a traditional roka. At one point, she even tells the person recording the video to do it properly.
“Bana tu sahi se (Take the video properly),” she says.
Her son looks clearly uncomfortable and keeps asking her to stop. But the mother is in no mood to listen. She explains why she feels upset and says, “Humari beizzati hui uska kya (What about our reputation?)”, suggesting she felt embarrassed by the situation.
Still, the moment is not all tense. The mother also blesses the couple and tells them, “Khush raho (Be happy),” accepting their relationship in her own dramatic way.
As expected, the internet had a lot to say.
Some users laughed it off, while others were not convinced it was real. “Looks scripted,” one comment read. Another user said, “This can’t be real. Feels staged.”
A few people also questioned what the girl’s family would think. “What about her parents? Has anyone asked them if they agree?” one user wrote.
For now, there is no clarity on where or when the video was shot. The authenticity of the clip has also not been confirmed. Until then, it remains another unexpected viral moment that has left social media both amused and confused.
