‘Better than English airports’: British traveller praises Lucknow Airport in viral video
Lucknow Airport is suddenly all over social media, and this time, it’s not because of a complaint. A British traveller has shared a video from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, and people can’t stop talking about how refreshingly positive it is.
In a space where travel stories often come with frustration, this one feels different. It’s simple, honest, and surprisingly relatable.
Photographer Dave Flew recorded the video while boarding a flight from Lucknow to Mumbai. Standing inside the airport, he casually shared what he felt about the place, and it clearly left an impression on him.
“This is Lucknow Airport. I quite like it; it is super modern and super efficient. Everything's working well,” he said, as he showed parts of the terminal.
What really stood out for him was how smooth everything felt, especially the part most travellers usually worry about – security.
“That [security check] was painless. I think when you travel domestically in India, the best thing to do with any electrical stuff is just take all of it out of your bag. And then you don't end up getting stopped and searched every time. It's a pain, but I understand why they do it.”
It’s the kind of tip frequent flyers instantly relate to, and many online said it actually makes a difference.
Beyond that, he also noticed the small details – the kind that quietly shape the whole travel experience. Clean spaces, comfortable seating, and facilities that don’t feel outdated.
“There are lovely, fancy bars everywhere. Really, really impressed with Lucknow Airport. It has set the bar for a lot of other airports. Certainly better than English airports. Very nice place,” Flew said.
That comparison, especially with English airports, quickly grabbed attention and got people talking.
Soon enough, the comments section turned into a mini-debate. Some users asked him the obvious question: How does it compare to Delhi?
His reply was short, but it said enough.
“I am trying to be diplomatic, but yes.”
That one line sparked a bigger conversation about how Indian airports are stepping up and changing perceptions.
In the end, Flew summed it up in a way that many travellers seemed to agree with.
“Genuinely impressed with Indian airports, always clean, spacious, easy to navigate, and super friendly staff! Always a pleasure flying here; it takes the stress out of travel!”
