Salary dissatisfaction leads to unusual protest
As highlighted in a report by the South China Morning Post, the woman works in a company in Shangqiu in Henan province. Details about her employer and her exact role are not clearly known. However, she said she felt she was being treated unfairly and was not satisfied with her salary.
Instead of raising the issue in a formal way, she took a different step. She slept for nearly five hours during office hours.
Later, she shared her reaction in a video and made her position clear. As quoted in the report, she said, “I will not leave. I will make him understand the concept of what you get is what you pay for.”
Situation escalates inside the office
The matter became more serious after she woke up and took a chocolate from her boss’s desk.
Her boss reportedly suffers from glucopenia and needs sugar at that moment. As he could not get it in time, he almost collapsed in the office.
As mentioned in the report, this led to a sharp reaction from him. Describing the incident, the woman said, “My boss became enraged. He said I meant to kill him. He gave me a warning, threatening to fire me.”
She also responded to people criticizing her and said, “For those who criticize me, you do not understand people like me who have such a low salary.”

After the video went viral, many people shared their opinions. Most users did not support her actions and felt that her behaviour was not acceptable in a workplace.
One user said, “Any boss would not tolerate such an employee.”
Another highlighted the working hours, saying, “The Labour Law stipulates that a worker works eight hours a day. So, deducting five hours for a nap, time for lunch, and going to the toilet, you have less than two hours for sitting in front of your desk to work.”
Some comments were sarcastic. One user wrote, “My God, I did not expect that one day I would support a boss, ha.”
Another user added, “Set an alarm before you take a nap next time so you will not miss the time to get off duty.”
