All about ‘17 Diapers Mom’ and why people are annoyed with the viral video

On October 5, 2024, TikToker @nursehannahbh, who goes by the name Hannah, shared a video that quickly gained a lot of traction. Hannah is a mother to a toddler, and like all moms, she also had trouble balancing things on her own. In the video, she expressed how challenging it is to care for a toddler and a three-week-old baby while handling the demands of parenthood. After inviting viewers to join her on a hunt for dirty diapers around her home, she ultimately found 17 scattered throughout the house.


The 17 diapers were just from one day, and Hannah admitted that she was ‘embarrassed’ that her home was littered with diapers. As she walked around the house, in the clip, she can be seen picking soiled diapers from the coffee table, behind the couch, and on the bedroom floor. She even commented on how this might be the reason her house stinks so much. In the follow-up video, Hannah also clarified that the state of her home was such because she was handling the baby on her own, while her husband was out for the day.

The clip has almost 6 million views and thousands of comments, with some criticizing Hannah while others supported her. However, Hannah later explained that she never expected her video to go viral. Talking to 'People', she said that she didn’t realize she had changed so many diapers that day, and once she realized, she thought of making a funny video.


Hannah had welcomed her second child just a month ago, and with her husband away, she was trying to manage her kids. Commenting on the backlash, Hannah said that the people criticizing her don’t know what is actually going on in her house. She further defended herself by saying that she didn’t take anything to heart.

Not just herself, Hannah also defended her husband. She told the interviewer that a planned hunting trip had been scheduled by her husband for over a year. He was away for one day, and they both agreed that she could manage the children.


Many people commented positively on the clip and criticized the harsh judgments. They showered her with supportive affirmations and praised her for managing the kids so well. Parenting is always so challenging and a task that is hardly acknowledged. New parents, especially mothers, have to not only deal with postpartum complications, but they also spend sleepless nights trying to manage the responsibilities of a newborn baby.
