7-seater solar-powered car made with scrap worth Rs 10,000: Meet Asad Abdullah, UP man whose invention travels 200km on sunlight alone
Many ideas are successful not because they are dreamed up, but because they are pursued with courage. For Asad Abdullah, a 22-year-old man from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, such was the case.
A small workshop, a pile of discarded metal and an idea, that is how his journey began. Today, his invention has gathered attention across the country. Abdullah successfully created a seven-seater vehicle powered entirely by sunlight. It took him numerous tries and immense effort, but he created a vehicle that will do more than just transport people, it will also save fuel and energy.
His vehicle created from scraps is reported to travel over 200 km on solar energy, as long as it is exposed to the sun.
According to Abdullah, the idea is modest. If there is sunlight, the vehicle continues to run smoothly without fuel. His explanation is simple, clean energy should be usable in everyday life, not stored away in expensive stores.
What shocks most is the cost of the creation. The entire build is said to have come together with the help of scrap that cost him around Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000, using materials most would throw out as junk. Moreover, seven people can easily sit inside the vehicle, making it more than just an experiment but a fruitful creation.
"Fantastic..words are not enough to praise this boy and his invention" wrote a user on Instagram.
"The youth of our country are beyond imagination. Coun. They rule other countries of the world, too. Hope they are encouraged and motivated. Salaam beta" appreciated another.
"I don't know if this is legal. But the regulatory framework needs to change to allow such innovation on public roads," suggested one.
In a country like India where fuel costs and pollution remain constant challenges, this model though rough in working, fuels conversation over conservation. Abdullah's work stands out for more than just a new machine. It is based on the belief that sustainability does not need big budgets or polished systems. Sometimes, things around you such as scrap and sunlight can also be used, only if you are willing to try.
