In Tollywood, films are akin to festivals for moviegoers, although, due to corona, a few festival releases had been skipped. The Telugu audiences have never shied away from thronging theaters to enjoy watching their favorite stars on screen. Now, there are many films featuring top stars which shall come out as festival releases - so, let's take a look at what the upcoming festive seasons have in store for all Tollywood patrons

We have seen 3 films getting released this Dusshera, namely ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’, ‘PelliSandaD’, and ‘Mahasamudram’. Out of the three, ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ starring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde, and directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, took the top spot in terms of box-office collections, followed by ‘PelliSandaD’ and ‘Mahasamudram’ respectively.

This Diwali will see some of the big stars' films releasing in Telugu states, namely Rajinikanth's Telugu dub ‘Peddanna’ (of Tamil ‘Annatthe’, directed by Siruthai Siva) will be releasing this November 4th. ‘Enemy’ starring Vishal and Arya will also be released on the same date of Nov 4^th. ‘Pushpakavimanam’, starring new actors, and other films are also targeting this Diwali season.

This Christmas will see Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ releasing in theaters. The first part of the film will reportedly be released on December 17^th of this year. 'Pushpa' will be released in two parts owing to the length of the movie and it will be released across the country as a pan-Indian film in four southern languages along with its Hindi release.

Natural star Nani’s ‘ShyamSinga Roy’ directed by Rahul Sankrityan is reportedly gearing up for December’s last week release whereas Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’ is also rumored to be eyeing a new year's release (not officially confirmed yet). A few small films might also be rumored to be eyeing the new years' release dates.

Sankranthi is one of the biggest festivals for Telugu people who celebrate it for 3-4 days at least. SS. Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ is slated for 2022 Sankranthi whereas Pawan Kalyan – Rana Daggubati’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’ is also eyeing 2022 Sankranthi. Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarkari vari Pata’ is scheduled for Jan 12^th while Jan 14^th will see Prabhas’ 'RadheShyam’s release. As per the Industry buzz, half of the top actors’ films are eyeing only the Sankranthi season, Though the release date of 'Acharya' is not yet finalized the film may release on Sankranthi as the collections will be reportedly huge compared to other days' releases. Therefore the upcoming traditional festivals are going to be film fests for Telugu people across the globe.
