, who has penned many a famous and meaningful number in Tollywood, received the Padma Shri from President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

left his medical education to enter the film industry and pen songs. Before entering the film industry, he would reportedly pen poems under the name Bharani. The award-winning lyricist has even said that he was inspired by

K Viswanath

’s masterpiece ‘Shankarabharanam’ that inspired him to come into films. Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry shared a picture on social media and wrote, “Guruvugaru received Padmasri.” (sic)

Lyricist Sirivennela’s son, actor Raja Chembolu too has been posting pictures from the event, with his family looking happy and proud about the patron being bestowed with the Padma Shri.
