Svetha Yallapragada aka the Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari finally made her debut in Telugu with Venkatesh’s famous number Attention Everybody from Coolie No. 1.
Born to Telugu parents in California, the rapper is known for her songs in English and even Hindi, but she never tried her hand at Telugu.
Rana Daggubati wanted to give his chinnana the perfect gift on his birthday today and released a remix version of the famous number.
Sharing it, he wrote, “Happy birthday Chinanna @VenkyMama this one is for you an all the VictoryMen out there!!” He added, “Style Swag and everything I learnt was from him!! Couldn’t find a better start to bring out the first SouthBay T-PoP song than “Attention-Everybody”!!”
Also adding how this is Raja Kumari’s first Telugu number, he wrote, “Ft the awesome @TheRajaKumari for the very first time in Telugu!! Working with RajaKumari truly brought about an international vibe to the song and was happiest to bring her to Rap and sing in Telugu.” The 3-minute-10-seconds long, quirky video sees scenes from the dance number, apart from footage of fans. Originally composed by
Ilaiyaraaja, the remix sees vocals and lyrics by Raja Kumari and Telugu lyrics by Pranav Chaganty.
"Growing up, Victory Venkatesh was my favourite hero in the house. It feels almost full circle to celebrate his birthday in this manner with my very first Telugu song. The process of finally singing in my mother tongue was the most rewarding experience. I hope my fans and Telugu family are happy around the world!" said Raja Kumari in a press-note.
The original number that is 4-minutes-25-seconds long remains nostalgic for many Venkatesh fans not just for the music and lyrics, but also for his style and dancing in the number.
