Music review: Nannu Dochukunduvate
Sudheer Babu’s maiden production
First on the album is the much-publicised Big Boss Anthem, crooned by Tipu,
Nijamga Kothaga, penned by Bhaskarbhatla Ravikumar and featuring Harshika Devanathan’s vocals is a peppy number that begins on a slow note. The energetic number has a mass touch to it, with the tune and music reminiscent of the 90s. Harshika’s throaty vocals in particular work well for the number, while the lyrics are good enough. The 90s style music and tune on the other hand might not sit well with everyone.
Naresh Iyer’s Inthe Inthena, penned by Srimani also has a touch of nostalgia to it. The tune, music and vocals of this one work well for the number, with Naresh’s vocals pouring life into it. The lyrics too, that speak of the confusion of first love are on-point. However, the number comes like a breath of fresh air after the previous numbers, with everything working for it.
Next up is Mounam Maatathoti crooned by Ajaneesh himself and penned by Srimani. Heavily auto-tuned, the number slips despite having a good tune and music. Srimani’s lyrics too are good enough and it is only Ajaneesh’s vocals that are extremely off-putting in the number. The music too might not sit well with everyone with its touch of EDM. However, this one tries something different, so kudos for that.
Ending the album on a heartbreaking note is Okadhaari Lona, featuring Haricharan and CR Bobby’s vocals and Ramanjaneyulu’s lyrics. The heavily auto-tuned vocals are again off-putting for a number with decent lyrics, tune and music.
All in all, the album of Nannu Dochukunduvate has nothing much to offer other than the romantic number Inthe Inthena. Ajaneesh Lokesh’s music wavers all through the album, working only in certain numbers. Give Nijamga Kothaga a try too, for Harshika’s vocals alone. The rest is just good enough for a one-time listen.

, presumably named after the classic number from Gulebakavali Katha is releasing this weekend. The film, that is directed by RS Naidu has Nabha Natesh as the female lead features five songs on its jukebox composed by Ajaneesh Loknath.First on the album is the much-publicised Big Boss Anthem, crooned by Tipu,

and Arunraja Kamaraj, and penned by Krishnaaji. The number that features both Telugu and Hindi lyrics speak of the kind of person Sudheer Babu’s character Karthik will be in the film. However, the number itself is plain okay, not leaving an impression with its tune, vocals or music.Naresh Iyer’s Inthe Inthena, penned by Srimani also has a touch of nostalgia to it.
