Music review: Kobbari Matta

Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu, aka Sampoo’s Kobbari Matta is a film that has been in the works for a long time. The film ,that struggles to see the light of the day, has five songs composed by Kamran. This album, though, is as tepid as one can expect anything that comes out of a Sampoornesh Babu film.
Kobari Aakulu crooned by Vinayak Sateesh is a melodramatic rendition of love seemingly shared between five brothers. Except, ending the song on a weird note is Sampoornesh Babu’s innuendo laden comment on his brother's genitals, stating, “Tammudu chala yedigi poyedu.” Apart from that, the vocals and music on this one have nothing that sets them apart from any generic Tollywood number.

Shambo

Siva Shambo by Saaketh Kommandoori is another melodramatic number, with the video featuring a dancing Sampoo. Seemingly about a person who turns up to be the saviour of drought-filled land in

Rayalaseema

, this one's a downer too. Next up is A Aa E Ee by Rahul Sipligunj and Lipsika, a nauseatingly mass dance number that plays around with letters before getting to the actual song. But by then, you just don't care.
Revanth and Mohana Bhogaraju’s Android is like something ripped off an AR Rahman playlist and turned into something else. This one too unfortunately has tepid lyrics and despite the arresting female lyrics, it fails to make a mark. Not to mention the random rap about Sampoo that kicks in between.
Dhanunjay’s Vethikina is a sombre number that tries to salvage the album by finally bringing in something that reasonably makes sense but unfortunately, it’s too little too late. Give the album of Kobbari Matta a cold, hard miss unless you're a Sampoo fan.
