Music Review: Dorasaani

Album: :

Dorasaani

Genre: Tollywood

KVR Mahendra’s Dorasaani marks the debut of Anand Deverakonda and

Shivathmika Rajasekhar

. The OST of the film sees four numbers composed by

Prashanth R Vihari

.

Opening the album on a folksy note is Ningilona Paalapuntha with Anurag Kulkarni’s vocals and Goreti Venkanna’s lyrics. While the music and tune are not the most unique, it is Anurag’s vocals and Goreti’s lyrics that make this one a worthy listen. Not only are the lyrics poetic, they are loaded with a kind of sweet innocence that’s hard to come by.

Kallallo Kala Varamai

sees stunning vocals by

Chinmayi

Sripaada, lyrics by Shreshta and chorus by Aditi Bhavaraju, Sony and Prasanth R Vihari. Yet again, the lyrics are the winner of this romantic number. Chinmayi’s vocals leave a mark but so does the spectacular chorus, tune and Prasanth’s music. This one’s an earworm that stays with you long
after you’re done with its dreaminess.

Anurag Kulkarni lends his voice for Goreti Venkanna’s lyrics again for

Kappatalli

, which begins with voices of children chanting. It’s a super fun number with great music by Prashanth R Vihari. While the lyrics are a little hard to follow, Anurag makes up with his vocals, singing the tongue-twister with élan.

Last on the album is Aadi Paade Dorasaani, with Lokeshwar’s vocals and Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics. The number reveals everything there is to know about the character Shivathmika Rajasekhar plays if one pays attention. It divulges the gilded cage her character lives in. Ramajogayya’s lyrics and Lokeshwar’s vocals, apart from the subtle music shine in this number.

The album of Dorasaani is a pleasurable one, with the numbers making a mark, especially if you love poetic lyrics. While all the four songs have something to offer, Kallallo Kala Varamai wins the cake, with Kappatalli coming a close second. Give this one a chance this weekend, you won’t regret it.
