First on the album is Vidyarthulam, penned by Polur Ghatika Chalam and crooned by Rahul Sipilgani. Ridiculously juvenile lyrics set to tripe

music

and vocals; the song sets the tone for other things to come. The lyrics feature a line right at the beginning, with a man asking his friend to not call him bro, because it sounds like broker. He instead asks him to say bra. A huge thumbs down for this drivel.

Macha, crooned by Vari Kuppola Yadagiri and penned by C Vijay Kumar does not make things any better. The off vocals and the run-of-the-mill melody make things worse for this one. Composed as a love song, this number sounds more like a parody.

Karthik’s Preminchanamma, penned by Vari Kuppola Yadagiri is the quintessential ‘romantic number’ that tried to be dreamy, but in vain. The vocals, lyrics, tune and music of this number too fail to do anything to elevate this one. The lyrics, while seemingly better than the previous number and trying hard to be coherent, still don’t manage to do much.

Sharada Neeradendu, crooned by Satya Yamini and penned by DY Raghuram is a short number that seems to be the most coherent number in this album. With a tinge of classical music and in-your-face lyrics, the number manages to do a good job.

Dweshaniki Artham, crooned by Suresh and penned by the music director Polur Ghatika Chalam, ends the album on a sad note.

All in all, the album of 2 Friends is an unbearable farce for the most part, trying too hard with its lyrics and music both. It is only at the end that the album tries hard to salvage itself, but by then it’s too late to care. However, if you still want to give this album a chance, Sharada Neerandendu and Dweshaniki Artham are a good one-time listen.
