Chinmayi Sripada reveals why she's not a part of AR Rahman's Together As One
A number called Together As One, composed by AR Rahman, featuring 65 singers singing in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi was released on the occasion of Independence Day.

The number saw the singers from across the country chime in with their rendition of Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai. Despite the amount of singers, some fans couldn’t help but notice Chinmayi Sripada’s conspicuous absence. A fan who noticed this commented under AR Rahman’s post, “Missed you in this @Chinmayi.. but understandable given the amount of “Diamonds and Pearls” involved .. while conspicuous, your absence in this video isn’t all that surprising.” (sic) Many other fans left similar comments under the number.
However, Chinmayi, who was vocal during the Me Too movement and still remains to be, made it clear that she refuses to work with anyone accused of sexual harassment. She replied, “Also I wont be in a video with Singer Karthik. Other female singers and seniors may condone and normalize sexual harassment. It goes against my grain. Who cares for safety of women in their workspaces? :)” (sic) Fans responded to her in support, praising her for standing up for what she believes in.

The number sees Tamil lyrics by Vairamuthu, Hindi lyrics by PK Mishra, Telugu by Rajasri and Malayalam by Mankombu Gopalakrishnan. The song has been sung by some of the most senior singers in the industry which includes SP Balasubrahmanyam, Hariharan, KS Chithra, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan,SP Sailaja and Mano to name a few.
