AR Rahman announces the lead actor of his film '99 Songs'

Sharing the debutant’s picture on his social media, the composer who’s turning writer and producer with this project wrote, “Introducing the talented @itsEhanBhat who marks his debut as the lead of #99Songs. . According to reports, the trio were chosen after close to a 1000 auditions. Apart from them, Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, composer-drummer Ranjit Barot and Indian Oean’s Rahul Ram will also star in the film which will be directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy.

’99 Songs’ will be a young, passionate love story with music at its soul. The first single of the film was also mixed earlier this month by the maestro who wrote on his social media, “Just mixed three language versions of one the most important songs we have ever made this decade for 99songs ..need your love releasing in a few days ...are you ready ? @offjiostudios @JioSaavn #99songsthemovie #ellapugazhumiraivanukke” (sic)

’99 Songs’ is slated for release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on June 21 this year.
