‘Gudumba Shankar’ completes 14 years: Take a look at the highlights of the Pawan Kalyan starrer

Every year, Tollywood churns out hundreds of new films. Some of them are hit and others are downright forgettable. Take the 2004 film ‘Gudumba Shankar’ starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles, for example. The film was averagely received by the audience and didn’t make much of dent in the domestic box-office. However, the movie has managed to entertainer the audience irrespective of the result, perhaps anchored by the popularity of Pawan Kalyan.

Film buffs and fans are very happy today as the Pawan Kalyan starrer has completed 14 years of release. Let’s take a look at the highlights of the film.

Screenplay by Pawan Kalyan

The action entertainer has a screenplay by Pawan Kalyan. His screenplay tells the story of a small-time thief named Gudumba Shankar who falls in love with a woman named Gowri who is being forced to marry a local don. Shankar makes a plan of saving and marrying her. The best thing about the film is its screenplay.

3/6

Action sequences conceived and choreographed by Pawan Kalyan

Some action scenes can also make a film memorable. You might notice that fight scenes in the film have an intense feeling, which makes it seem raw, thanks to Power Star Pawan Kalyan who had conceived and choreographed action sequences in the film. Even though there isn’t an extra level of violence, it seems that every frame is realistic. The fight scenes in the film will surely charge you up. The fight scenes in the movie seem simple enough, but there is a great deal of planning involved in making it.

4/6

Cinematography by Chota K Naidu

The camerawork done by award-winning Chota K Naidu was simple but effective, and the capturing the film made a big impression. Chota K Naidu’s cinematography is beautiful and the direction by Veera Shankar Bairisetty is average. The audience also loved it. Chota K Naidu developed his personal style after cranking super hit films such as ‘Deyyam’ (1996), ‘Master (1997)’, ‘Choodalani Vundi’ (1998), ‘Tholi Prema’ (1998), ‘Aadi’ (2002), and ‘Johnny’ (2003). Now he is one of the best cinematographers who use cutting-edge camera work and state-of-the-art technology in Tollywood.

5/6

The film’s music is warm and romantic

The film has music by Mani Sharma. There are six songs in the album, all are warm and romantic. ‘Le Le Le Le’, brings out the pain and frustration of being downtrodden. The popular amongst them all is ‘Chitti Nadumune’, which is hip-hop and rap in style. The uber-romantic duet ‘Chiguraaku Chaatu Chiluka’ is something that you can play on a loop. ‘Chilakamma’ is an energetic and groovy track. ‘Emantaro’ is romantic dance number and we specially love this with the poetic lyrics by Chandrabose.

6/6

Meera Jasmine’s luminous charm and performance

Meera Jasmine had essayed the leading lady opposite Pawan Kalyan in the film. The actress’ luminous charm and comedy timing helped her create a niche in the industry. She made her Tollywood debut with ‘Ammayi Bagundi’, where she played the dual role as Janani, and Satya. Just one film old, the Keralite signed her second film ‘Gudumba Shankar’ alongside Power Star. Meera Jasmine displayed her freshness and versatility in each and every character she played.
