'Ye Maaya Chesave' re-release: Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer film to hit big screens after 15 years

Ex-couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen on the big screens together once again as their 2010 romance drama film, 'Ye Maaya Chesave' is set to re-release in theatres. Directed by Gautham Vasudev, the movie got highly popular among the fans and became a cult classic.

The movie will be released on July 18, fifteen years after the film's original theatrical release in the year 2010.

Film love story led to real life romance

The film is a tender, sweet and poetic love story and its fans still remember it fondly. It was only the beginning of Samantha and Chaitanya's acting career but was the stepping stone for their off-screen love story.

After seven years of dating, they married in a grand ceremony in Goa in October 2017, with both Hindu and Christian weddings. However, in 2021, after four years of marriage, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation, citing personal reasons and different life goals.

After their separation, Naga Chaitanya moved on and married actress Sobhita Dhulipala in a traditional Telugu wedding ceremony held on December 4, 2024, at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.

On the other hand, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been in the news for her rumoured relationship with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, one-half of the acclaimed director duo Raj & DK.

The announcement 'Ye Maaya Chesave' coming back to the theatres has also led fans to speculate on social media, a reunion of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya to promote the film's re-release. However, these are expected to be mere fan speculation. While the duo may share the screen once again through this re-release, there is reportedly no real-life reunion planned.
