"Women are not cosmetic place- holders in my movies, Panne’s uniqueness is what makes it different": Director Ram Alladi

Award-winning New York-based writer and director, Ram Alladi, who made a name for himself with Chiseled (2017), a heritage documentary of Kakatiya Dynasty in Telangana and Ra’s Metanoia based on the life of Gandhi, winning 11 & 14 international awards respectively, is back - up and running with a new screenplay on board titled Panne a female-oriented patriotic, political drama based on the post-independence era all set to release in August.The trailer of the film was launched recently.
While there are many interesting anecdotes related to film, one such thing was how Panne came into existence and what exactly it's different.
Beaming with pride, Ram Alladi opens up on why he chose to narrate the tales of independence through Panne, and how it is different from other similar movies based on freedom and independence.

Talking about the same, Ram Alladi said, Honestly speaking this film doesn’t discuss anything about before August 14th 1947 in other words it doesn’t talk about the efforts of great men or women who fought for independent India. I wrote the story only from the point of how independence is being taken into consideration, not how it is served to us. And how is it classified? Is it social or individual freedom?
Yes, there were numerous films based on the nation's independence struggle, but unlike them, the uniqueness of PANNE is the difference between social and individual freedom and women are not cosmetic place holders in my movies.
Panne is a female-oriented patriotic, political drama based on the post-independence era. Panne /Pages stars Kalpana Tiwari, Pankaj Munshi, Anand Rangarajan, Vijaya Posala, Silpa Das, Prasad Kamalanabha and Sam Mukherjeerjee. Panne, filmed in Hyderabad and Warangal, is set to release this August in Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
