Director of Photography Sudharshan Srinivasan, who shared how Airra is going to be different from the custom horror film making that the film industries generally does, he says that "Most horror films use blue tones because it works well with horror and night scenes. For Airaa, we decided to break that norm and go with warm colours - reds, Yellows, oranges. It was a risk we had taken and we had very few references to guide us. But now, we feel the colours have worked out very well for the film!"

, who shared that casting Nayantara as Bhavani the lead character of the movie was very convincing for the team after seeing her look test before shooting of the film."When scripting, we didn't think that Nayantara ma'am would be playing both the roles. But once we had that idea, we pitched it to her. She suggested we do a look test and decide.
