Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently made a comeback with the action series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'. The actress, known for her resilience, has often shared her struggles, both mental and physical, following her divorce from ex-husband and actor Naga Chaitanya. After Naga Chaitanya married his girlfriend, Sobhita Dhulipala, on December 4, a video of Samantha crying at a public event post-divorce resurfaced online.
While attending the trailer launch event of the mythological drama 'Shaakuntalam', Samantha expressed that her love for cinema remains unchanged despite the many challenges she has faced in life. During the event, she stated, “No matter how many struggles I face in life, one thing won’t change. That’s how much I love cinema, and cinema loves me back.” Samantha also thanked director Gunasekhar for giving her the role of Shakuntala, a mythological character she portrayed alongside Dev Mohan.
'Shaakuntalam' (2023) marked Samantha’s return to the big screen after a series of personal challenges. Many of her fans expressed their support in the comments section of the event's video. One fan wrote, “We're with you, Sam . Be strong @Samanthaprabhu2,” while another commented, “Stay strong, Sammu ❤️.” Samantha appeared at the event wearing an ivory-colored organza saree. Notably, she has started wearing glasses at events after being diagnosed with myositis in 2022. Samantha shared that her diagnosis has made her more emotionally sensitive.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya first shared the screen in the 2010 film 'Ye Maaya Chesave'. They began dating in 2017 and married the same year, but their marriage ended in 2021. Following their separation, Samantha was visibly distressed. Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya made his relationship with Sobhita Dhulipala official in August 2023. The couple tied the knot in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Hyderabad on December 4.
