Global star Ram Charan and entrepreneur Upasana Konidela are often known as one of the film industry’s most adored couples. Their relationship, which began as a friendship, has blossomed into a lifelong bond filled with love, understanding, and shared adventures. Upasana recently revealed that there was once a time when she decided to put Ram's love to the test, and he passed it without hesitation.

Ice Cream challenge

During an interview with Curly Tales, recalled an incident from their dating days. "We were dating at that time, and I used to live closer to the old city," she said. "I told him, if you really love me, I want you to take me to Famous Ice Cream. It was right in the middle of a busy market, and he was already a star by then everyone recognised him. So he said okay, we went there, and we ordered ice cream on a date."


The outing turned into a memorable 'date' with some chaos as she mentioned they had people on their doors after that, she said, "It was the true test of his love, and he passed with flying colours."

Not a filmy romance

Upasana talked about how their relationship evolved over the years. She revealed it wasn’t a typical cinematic romance. "We realised that we couldn't have found a better match for each other. We were friends for about two years. No, we didn't have sparks. It's not so filmy; it’s not like Magadheera where we touched and felt the spark. We lived in reality."

The two met during their college days and began dating before getting engaged in 2011, eventually tying the knot in a grand Hyderabad wedding in 2012. They also have a daughter named, Klin Kaara.

What's next for Ram Charan

Speaking of the 'RRR' star's work front, he is currently working on his upcoming sports drama film, 'Peddi', directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. It is slated to release on March 27, 2026.
