Actor Nani may be known for his natural acting and charming screen presence, but off-screen, he is just like any of us when it comes to food. The actor is a big foodie and like any other person, there’s always one favorite dish that wins over the heart and stomach at the same time.
Idli becomes his favourite tiffin
Although Nani in his past interviews has states couple of dishes that he really enjoys, during an interview with Mashables in 2024, names Idli is favorite tiffin dish. Interestingly, during the interview, Nani also shared that earlier, he did not fancy having Idlis. He shared that he used to get disheartened whenever his mother used to put Idli for his school lunchbox. Later, when he grew up and started shooting, it became his favorite.
“Maa Tiffin Box mai lagaati thi school ko, open karke yeh aisa heartbreak, yeh Idli fir aagayi meri zindagi mein, (My mother used to pack it in my tiffin box for school. I would open it and feel heartbroken. Idli again in my life)” in a disgruntled tone, “Nahi hona nahi sochta tha magar abhi shooting ke baad Idli favorite hai (I used to think no, I don’t want this. But now, after shooting, idli has become my favorite)”, he said.
The perfect way to eat Idli
He also shared that it's a good food and mentioned that if it's served hot, “It’s the best tiffin in the world.”
He also mentioned that it tastes best with ghee, chilli powder and a little diluted peanut chutney.
Upcoming film
On the work front, Nani is currently working on his upcoming film, ‘The Paradise’. It marks his second outing with Srikantha Odela, with whom he made ‘Dasara’. Nani will be seen in yet another gritty and raw role with long and braided ponytails. The movie is set to release on August 21, 2026.
