It might be hard to imagine anyone other than Vijay Deverakonda playing Surya in 'Kingdom', but there were several reports that said that the film was originally offered to another Telugu superstar—Ram Charan.


Reportedly director Gowtam Tinnanuri had first approached the 'RRR' actor with the project during the filming of 'Acharya'. Ram Charan was reportedly quite impressed by the gripping spy-thriller script.

As reported by 123 Telugu, the producer Naga Vamsi cleared the air about the rumor that Ram Charan was first approached for 'Kingdom'. He said that the script which was discussed with Ram Charan was an entirely different one.

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda's portrayal of Surya, an undercover cop torn between duty and brotherhood, is earning widespread praise.
