Young actor
Vishwak Sen's latest film, 'Laila,' had to experience a massive failure at the box office amid huge expectations. Upon its release on February 14, the film was criticized on the internet with mixed reviews. Recently the lead actor shared a message on social media.
In his post, the 29-year-old actor acknowledged that his recent films have not met expectations and expressed his commitment to bringing fresh and engaging content to audiences.
On X (formerly Twitter), the 'HIT' actor wrote, "Namaste, I acknowledge that my recent films haven't met expectations. My last film received constructive criticism, which I wholeheartedly accept. My intention has always been to bring something fresh to the audience, and I deeply respect the feedback I've received. Moving forward, I promise that whether my films are class or mass, they will never cross the line into vulgarity."
He also mentioned that his future films would avoid vulgarity and ensure that every scene matters.
Speaking of 'Laila,' the film struggled to gain momentum after its release, earning just Rs 3.53 crores in India net collection in its first six days. Vishwak Sen takes on dual roles as Sonu, a barber with modeling aspirations, and Laila, his female alter ego. The cast also includes Akanksha Sharma and
Vennela Kishore.
The film was also part of controversies before its release when veteran actor Prudhvi made politically charged remarks at a pre-release event. These statements sparked backlash and calls for a boycott from YSR Congress Party supporters, further diminishing the film's chances of success.
Despite the failure of 'Laila,' Vishwak Sen's upcoming projects offer hope for a comeback. The actor has announced plans for 'Falaknuma Das 2,' which is currently in pre-production.
