Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi’s 'Virata Parvam' is one of the highly anticipated movies of the year. D. Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri bankrolled the project under the banner of Suresh Productions in association with Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. Directed by Venu Udugula, the period action drama which has piqued viewers’ interest for all right reasons, is gearing up to hit the screens on June 17. ​Sai Pallavi's 'Vennela' is based on a real-life character

The character of Vennela essayed by Sai Pallavi is based on a woman named Sarala. The filmmakers of 'Virata Parvam' claim that Sarala, a real-life character, served as the model for the character of Vennela. Ahead of the film’s release, Sai Pallavi and the 'Virata Parvam' crew recently met Sarala's family in Warangal. They all spent time with Sarala's family. Sarala's mother had reportedly presented a saree to Sai Pallavi.

​Heroine-cantered film

Venu Udugula, the director of 'Virata Parvam', said at one of the film's promotional events that the heroine is the focus of the plot and mainly ladies should watch this film. Sai Pallavi essays the role of Vennela, who is smitten by the writings of the Naxalite activist. Sai Pallavi's makeover for her 'Virata Parvam' role, which is evident from the film's trailer as well as her intense acting in some scenes, has garnered the kind of attention that must have lifted the spirits of the film's makers.

​Intriguing plot

'Virata Parvam', which has Rana Daggubati playing the lead character, is an intense love story set in the 1990s against the backdrop of the Naxalite movement in Telangana. Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati play a fascinating love couple caught in the midst of a revolution. Rana plays Comrade Ravanna, also known by his pen name Aranya, and Sai Pallavi will be seen in the role of Vennela.

​Pre-release hype

Billed as one of the most-hyped movies in recent months, the industry has pinned high hopes on the flick's performance at the box office. Directed by Venu Udugula, the period action drama has garnered a lot of attention from moviegoers with its unique promotional campaigns. And the trailer which has engaging visuals and dialogues that are impactful has garnered a lot of attention from viewers. The release of a few promotional posters and a couple of songs from the film has piqued movie buffs' interest.

​Supporting cast and crew

Priyamani, Nandita Das, Nivetha Pethuraj, Priyamani, Eshwari Rao, Ravi Anand, Naveen Chandra, Zareena Wahab, and others have played pivotal roles in 'Virata Parvam'. Suresh Bobbili, one of Tollywood's most under-appreciated composers, has created the tunes that will linger in the minds of music lovers for a long time. The film was shot in picturesque locations at Dharipally, Parkal, in the forests of Kerala and in the forests of Vikarabad and Warangal by cinematographers Dani Sanchez-Lopez and Divakar Mani. A Sreekar Prasad is on board as the editor.
