Vinaya Vidheya Rama is the perfect Sankranti gift for your family: Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani can’t seem to hold her excitement when talking about Vinaya Vidheya Rama. “This is the first time I’ve done an out-and-out commercial film that has a perfect blend of romance, comedy and action. No one makes larger-than-life cinema in Tollywood better than (director) Boyapati sir,” she beams.
Kiara plays a girl named Seetha in the film. “She is a modern Telugu girl who’s full of spunk and is very sure of herself. Seetha comes in the lighter moments of the film and the director has seamlessly integrated them into the storyline,” she says.
The characters Rama (played by Ram Charan) and Seetha, seem like a throwback to the epic Ramayana. Tell her that and pat comes the reply, “The mythological Rama-Seetha parallel is what makes the film all the more interesting. Boyapati sir has given the characters a contemporary twist. For instance, my character, unlike the Seetha we see in Ramayana, is more outspoken than Rama. In fact, she bosses over him all the time. In front of the family, Rama makes it seem as if he’s the one taking charge, but otherwise, the girl is the boss in the relationship. Boyapati garu’s strong belief in tradition and our mythological roots is matched by his ability to make his characters feel contemporary at the same time.”
Talking about her most memorable experience during the shoot, Kiara says, “Ram Charan and I really enjoy dancing and the energy we brought on the sets is there for everyone to see. Rama Loves Seetha is among my best and most well-shot dance numbers to date.” Beyond dances, she found her co-star Ram Charan to be a very spontaneous and expressive actor. “When I am with him, the dialogues don’t stress me out and I can totally react to everything that he’s doing. He’s always happy to do the rehearsals and enact scenes for me. Ram is full of masti and was constantly pulling my leg. I returned the favour too and we had this interesting camaraderie on sets.”
