Vijaya Nirmala's bronze status unveiled on her birth anniversary

The actress had breathed her last in June last year.

was unveiled by her husband, Superstar Krishna, on her 74th birth anniversary.

Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodhkar, Naresh, Krishnam Raju, Minister of Animal Husbandary, Fisheries and Cinematography of Telangana, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and more were present at the unveiling. Missing his wife, Krishna said, "Vijaya Nirmala has always been very kind and our entire family misses her today. I am very lucky to have shared my life with such a graceful woman."


Vijaya Nirmala breathed her last in June last year. She was one of the very few female directors in the industry. She acted in around 200 films and directed 44 films, making her a prominent name in the South Indian film industry. She made her debut in 1950 as a child artist in the Tamil film Macha Rekai. Her first Telugu film, Panduranga Mahatyam, released in the year 1957.
