Vijay Deverakonda reveals sibling pranks: Anand and I used to prank friends and girlfriends with our voices

The Deverakonda siblings are one of the most beloved actors and duos in the industry. Anand Deverakonda made his debut in 2019 with 'Dorasaani'. Comparisons with his brother, popular actor Vijay Deverakonda, have also been made, with some of the same features. Anand is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, 'Gam Gam Ganesha.' Anand was questioned about whether he deliberately mimicked his brother’s voice and diction.

Anand initially tried to explain that the similarity in their voices was natural and not intentional. To further clarify, he brought Vijay into the discussion via a call. Vijay shared a humorous story, revealing that one time their mother couldn't tell their voices apart, leading to many pranks where Anand pretended to be Vijay. This playful voice-swapping even extended to professional dubbing, with Anand once dubbing for Vijay in a film, although they left fans guessing which movie it was.

He even mentioned, "We later used it to our advantage and would prank our girlfriends and friends. Anand would often pretend to be me while talking to others.".

At the same event, Anand expressed concern about the current trend of constant comparisons in Tollywood. He pointed out that while healthy competition can drive better filmmaking, the excessive focus on comparing actors, their looks, and box office earnings has become harmful. Anand emphasized that this comparison culture distracts from the true celebration of cinema.

'Gam Gam Ganesha,' directed by Uday Shetty, features Anand Deverakonda and Pragathi Srivastava in the lead roles. The film is set to release in theaters on May 31.

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is busy with three upcoming projects, collaborating with directors Gowtam Tinnanuri, Rahul Sankrityan, and Ravi Kiran Kola. With both brothers actively working on exciting new films, their individual journeys continue to captivate audiences.
