Tollywood actor, Vijay Deverakonda auctioned off his first prestigious

award for a whopping Rs 25 lakh to

Divi Laboratories

and given the proceeds to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Vijay won the Filmfare award for his performance in the hit flick ‘Arjun Reddy’, which was directed by

Sundeep Reddy Vanga

. The star handed over his prized trophy at a special event in the city and collected the cheque from

Shakunthala Divi

. Taking to his social media handle, the star shared pictures from the event with the caption, “Filmfare given away. 25 lakhs raised for CMRF. Divi labs you are now a part of my journey. This blacklady is special to all of us. I shall show my appreciation by visiting you all. :)”

Deverakonda had previously announced his desire to auction off his well earned Filmfare award to raise money for the relief fund.

On fulfilling his dream to do good, Vijay said, “My parents have supported me to pursue my dream in acting. I worked very hard for Yevade Subramanyam and after this, there is no looking back.”

The star is currently awaiting the release of ‘Taxiwaala’, he will also be seen romancing Rashmika Mandanna in an upcoming romantic entertainer ‘Geetha Govindam’.

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is in prep mode for the Hindi remake of Vijay’s ‘Arjun Reddy’ that is set to go on floors later this year.
