Veteran actor Vedam Nagaiah passes away at 77


Actor Nagaiah, who's popularly known as

Vedam Nagaiah

for his performance as Ramulu in Krish Jagarlamudi's Vedam, passsed away at the age of 77 on Saturday. The actor has been suffering from age-related health issues for the past few months and succumbed to his illness on Saturday.

Hailing from Desavaram Peta in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, Nagaiah was spotted by Krish, who gave him an opportunity to act in Vedam, alongside actors Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and Anushka Shetty. Nagaiah instantly made a mark and went on to feature in over 30 films, including Nagavalli, Seema Tapakai, Okkadine, Ayyare, Gamanam and

Speaking about how get got an opportunity to act in Vedam, Nagaiah had earlier said in an interview, "Krish spotted me on the streets of Hyderabad and called me to his office. When I went there, he asked me to tell a dialogue which was written on a piece of paper. As soon as I narrated it, he signed me up for a role in Vedam. We shot the film for over six months and soon after its release, many other filmmakers approached with me roles."
Several artistes from the Telugu film industry offered their condolences to the actor's family.
