Venkatesh Daggubati and Priyamani starrer Narappa to hit screens this summer?

Srikanth Addala’s Narappa, starring Venkatesh Daggubati and Priyamani, is all set to hit screens this summer.

After Sankranthi, summer is the most bankable season for producers and filmmakers and the team is now eyeing for a summer release, state sources. Recently, a poster from the film was released in which Narappa and his family were seen sporting bright smiles. Priyamani plays the role of his wife Sundaramma in the film and makers are confident the film will be a unique experience for movie buffs.

Remake of the Tamil blockbuster Asuran, which was directed by Vetrimaaran and starred Dhanush in the lead roles, expectations are high on this one. The film will deal with the subject of caste oppression and posters show Venkatesh in a rural and mass avatar. The teaser which was released recently was intriguing too. Shooting for the film was halted due to the pandemic but resumed after lockdown.

Mani Sharma will be composing tunes for the film that will see actor Karthik Rathnam of C/o Kancharapalem fame in a key role as Munikanna, Narappa’s son. The role of Narappa itself will be one to watch out for as it will give Venkatesh scope to perform beyond the usual comedic roles he’s known for.

Venkatesh is also busy with Anil Ravipudi’s sequel for F2, titled F3. The film will see Varun Tej, Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Pirzada, just like the original. Reports state that the actor has also given his nod to Tharun Bhascker for a sports drama.
