Varun Tej's Ghani to release in March 2022

Varun Tej had undergone a massive physical transformation to play a boxer in his upcoming film Ghani. The action-entertainer, which has been in the works since 2019 was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The makers of the film, directed by Kiran Korrapati, had earlier announced a Christmas 2021 release but couldn't keep up with the date due to a clash with Nani-starrer Shyam Singha Roy.Now, the makers have finally announced a new release date for Ghani. The film, which also stars Saiee Manjrekar, is all set to hit screens on March 18, 2022.

Actor Varun Tej took to social media to reveal the new release date. "Giving you, my word..It's worth the wait..Wishing you all a Merry Christmas(sic)," Varun wrote. Touted to be an intense sports drama, Ghani features Varun in the role of a kickboxer. The actor had gone to Los Angeles and trained for this role with British athlete Tony David Jeffries, who bagged a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Jagapathi Babu will be playing the role of Varun Tej's coach in the film.
