Varun Tej and the 'Matka' team visit Tirumala Temple before the film's release

Varun Tej and the team of his upcoming film 'Matka' visited the Tirumala Tirupati temple early on November 13 to seek blessings ahead of their film's release. Photos from their visit have quickly spread across social media.

The actor, dressed in a crisp white kurta and pyjama, participated in a special pooja held at the temple, where he was honored with a red shawl by the temple priests.

As the release date approaches, Varun Tej has been actively promoting 'Matka', which is set to hit theaters on November 14. Further, it was also reported that he will also attend a promotional event at NVR Cinemas in Tirupati to engage with fans today.

'Matka' is a periodic crime drama directed by Karuna Kumar, featuring Varun Tej alongside Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi, who will be making her acting debut in Telugu films. Varun Tej portrays Vasu as being a refugee who arrives in Visakhapatnam from Burma to become a significant player in the gambling underworld.

During a recent interview, Varun Tej clarified that the film is not a direct biopic. Instead, it takes inspiration from Khetri's life while showing an original story that fits within a Telugu context.

The film marks Varun Tej's first pan-India project.

The supporting cast includes notable actors such as Saloni Aswani, Satyam Rajesh, P Ravi Shankar, Kishore, Naveen Chandra, and Ajay Ghosh.
