'Valmiki' pre-release business: Varun Tej's film stands at Rs 25 Cr approx.

Harish Shankar’s Varun Tej, Pooja Hegde, Atharvaa Murali, Mrinalini Ravi starrer ‘Valmiki’ is slated for release this weekend.
The film is a remake of the Tamil hit ‘Jigarthanda’ and will see music by Mickey J Meyer. It will tell the story of an aspiring filmmaker seeking out a dreaded gangster to research for his debut film. The film will see the lead actors reprise roles played by Bobby Simha, Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon in the original.Pooja Hegde’s role has been written in by Harish Shankar for the film.
The film which has high expectations pinned on it stands at a pre-release business of Rs 25 Cr according to Andhra Box Office. The breakdown of the figures according to the website is as follows:

‘Valmiki’ needs to rake in more than Rs 37.5 Cr to be declared a blockbuster, between Rs 30-37.40 Cr to be a super hit and Rs 25-29.99 Cr to be a hit. It remains to be seen how the film will fare upon its release. The film’s pre-release event was held recently with the team confident about its success. It was attended by Venkatesh, who reminisced of Harish also directing Varun Tej’s uncle Pawan Kalyan’s hit film ‘Gabbar Singh’. Rumours stay afloat that the actor-turned-politician is all set to make a comeback with Harish Shankar and the director too hinted at the same during the event, telling fans that should they wish to see their favourite star on-screen again, it might happen.
