Uppena: Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty turn into Aasi and Sangeeta

Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s nephew and Sai Dharam Tej’s younger brother, Panja Vaisshnav Tej is making his acting debut with a rustic actioner titled ‘Uppena’. While the shooting of the prestigious project is close to getting wrapped up, the makers announced the release date as April 2, 2020. Starring Mangalore beauty Krithi Shetty as the female lead, Uppena features Kollywood superstar Vijay Sethupathi as the prime antagonist.
After introducing the lead pair without revealing their faces, the makers of Uppena have unveiled the clear looks of the actors on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. While Panja Vaisshnav Tej is essaying the role of a fisherman named Aasi, Krithi Shetty will be seen as the college student Sangeeta. Sethupathi is playing the role of Rayanam and he appears to look royal and deadly in his FL.
Tipped to be a rustic romantic drama, Uppena is directed by debutante Buchi Babu Sana with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. It is bankrolled by popular filmmaker Sukumar in association with Mythri Movie Makers.
Despite enjoying superstar status in Kollywood, Sethupathi is keen on taking up interesting roles in other languages. The 41-year-old actor has managed to impress the Telugu audience with his extended cameo in Megastar Chiranjeevi's recent outing Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Besides making his Bollywood debut alongside Aamir Khan in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, the Makkal Selvan of Tamil cinema surprised everyone by signing Uppena.
