Prakash Raj, Sneha starrer Ulavacharu Biryani isnt a regular romantic drama. After all, not many films in recent times have focused on the relationship of a middle-aged couple. However, K S Rama Rao, whos producing the film, believes that the aforementioned aspect will be a new experience for the audience.
Ulavacharu Biryani has two love stories which have been handled with grace.
People have appreciated good films and I believe whatever film clicks with the audience is by nature a commercial entertainer, he says nonchalantly, adding, I really liked the Malayalam version of this film and I paid the advance to buy the remake rights in Telugu. Later, I realised that
Prakash Raj too was interested in the project. So, we decided to team up. Although we have never worked together before, hes one of my closest friends in the industry.
Ask him about his association with Ilayaraja, and he goes down memory lane, saying, I remember meeting him for the first time in 1978 for Sridhars Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu, a bilingual film which released in Telugu as Vayasu Pilichindhi. I had recommended his name to director Sridhar. Since then, he has been an important part of my journey in the film industry, he recalls. While he has a series of projects lined up this year, KS Rama Rao remains critical of how business of filmmaking has turned out in recent times. Theres a huge imbalance between the budget and revenue. The situation is beyond our control; however, its not going to stop people like me from doing our job, he signs off.
