Kannada actress
Ragini Dwivedi is hopeful about making her Tollywood debut later this year. The actress, who has been awaiting the release of Nani-Amala Paul starrer Janda Pai Kapiraju, has just signed another horror-thriller to be directed by Raj. I was completely bowled over when I heard the story. Moreover, its a female-centric film, so its a great opportunity for me to deliver my best.
The film is a bilingual made in Telugu and Kannada, beams Ragini, who is paired opposite two other newcomers. The entire film will be shot in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi in Malaysia, says Ragini, who will start shooting soon.
Meanwhile, shes busy wrapping up her ongoing multi-lingual film Amma, which is being directed by Faisal Saif. To be honest, Im really happy with the roles that Im offered both in Telugu and Kannada these days. Its very difficult to pull off a female-centric film and Im glad that filmmakers have faith in me. Despite the fact that my debut movie in Telugu hasnt released yet, Ive been getting some very good offers for big commercial films. And it shows that Telugu filmmakers have accepted me based on my work in my previous movies. Currently, Im in talks for three other films in Telugu and hopefully, Ill sign something soon, Ragini reveals.
Ask her about the experience of working with
Nani and Samuthirakani, the actress says, Working with Nani and Samuthirakani was a fabulous experience. It was the first time I was acting in a Telugu film and both of them went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable on the sets. I cherish the memory of a movie outing in a local theater, Ragini recalls. We wonder why she didnt take up any Telugu films earlier. I did get a few offers. However, since its a different language, I was particular about what role Im going to play and make sure that it was worth the effort. I just want people to realise that Im here to stay, she says laughing.
