Tirupati ladoo row: Pawan Kalyan to start a 11 day penance

After the Tirupati laddu issue was raised, the Andhra Pradesh state government has alleged that the then ruling party YSR congress to take responsibility over the adulteration of the ghee. Amidst this, actor and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Sunday decided to undertake a 11-day penance to seek the blessings of Lord Venkteswara.

The actor will be beginning his penance at the Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple near Guntur. Taking to X, he said, "After undertaking the 11-day penance, I will visit Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy."


The actor is carrying out a ritualistic purification to atone the alleged sins committed during the previous tenure of YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh. Responding to the adulteration of the ghee in Tirupati laddu, last week Pawan Kalyan said, "The moment I came to know that the laddoo prasadam contained animal remains, my mind was broken. As I am fighting for the welfare of the people, it hurts me that this issue did not come to my attention in the beginning. Everyone who believes in Sanatana Dharma should atone for this grave injustice done to Balaji, the god of Kali Yuga. As part of that, I decided to do a penance initiative."
