The guy has to work very hard to win over the girl – that’s what I loved about Geetha Govindam: Rashmika Mandanna

With just her second

Tollywood

film, Rashmika Mandanna has managed to win the hearts of Telugu audience. Her spunky portrayal of the hot-headed and very hard to please, Geetha in

Geetha Govindam

has won her accolades from both critics and audiences alike. The Bengaluru girl is over the moon. “In real life, I just don’t get angry at all. In fact, even when I get really angry sometimes, I don’t express myself so outwardly. After Geetha Govindam, I started snapping at my friends the way Geetha does, but they still don’t take me seriously,” she gushes, adding, “Honestly, I still can’t believe that the film has actually released. We have worked on this film for one year now and to see it running to packed houses feels surreal.”
What’s more, Tollywood biggies like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and

SS Rajamouli

have heaped praises on the film and Rashmika’s performance. “They are not obligated to go on Twitter and say such nice things about the movie, but they’ve gone ahead and done it, it’s a big motivation for me to do even better,” the actress beams.
What she loved the most about the film is its script, written by John. “The film is a beautiful journey of two people who are completely different from each other. And unlike in most love stories, here the guy has to work really hard to win over the girl. It does not come easy,” explains the actress.
Rashmika and Vijay’s chemistry, with the actor calling her “Geetha Madam” as he tries to win her approval, has been one of the
highlights of the film. “I hate being called ‘madam’, but Vijay has been calling me that for the last one year and he still doesn’t stop! Even my friends, who normally call me Rosh, have started calling me ‘madam’, I’m sick of it now,” she adds, laughing.
Produced by Bunny Vas under GA2 pictures banner and presented by Allu Aravind on Geetha Arts, Geetha Govindam is running successfully in theatres.
