“The Godfather, The Insider and Rangeela”: 5 films which inspired Adivi Sesh to become an actor

After a decade-long journey in the showbiz world, Adivi Sesh has established himself as one of the finest actors in contemporary Telugu cinema. Be it Kshanam, Goodachari or Evaru, the California-returned has proved his mettle when it comes to picking up interesting subjects, fine-tuning the screenplay and delivering the final output within limited budgets. With his nuanced emoting skills and good looks, the critically acclaimed director-cum-screenwriter gradually turned himself into a crowd-puller with talent, determination and hard work.
In his latest interaction with E Times, Adivi Sesh opened up on the five films which inspired him to become an actor. As expected, there are some Telugu movies as well. “When it comes to world cinema, The Godfather and The Insider are my all-time favourite. They have completely changed my perspective towards acting and filmmaking,” says Sesh.
The 34-year-old actor named Shiva and Murari as his most-liked films in Telugu. “Besides Hindi film Rangeela, Shiva and Murari are my favourite films in Telugu,” he said.
On the work front, Adivi Sesh is occupied with Sashi Kiran Tikka’s Major. The film is inspired by Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the NSG commando who lost his life in the tragic 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The Hindi-Telugu bilingual will be bankrolled by Mahesh Babu’s home banner Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu Entertainment (GMB) in association with Sony Pictures Productions. Due to coronavirus lockdown, the shooting is currently on hold.
