Filmmaker Parasuram Petla is one happy man these days. Not only did he get the chance to work with one of his favourite stars,
Mahesh Babu, in Sarkaru Vaari
Paata, the director says he’s also received tremendous appreciation from the audience. “I’ve wanted to work with
Mahesh Babu since Okkadu (2003), so when the film released on the big screen, to see my name on the credit line for a Mahesh Babu film was a special moment for me.
The audience has loved the film, which is the icing on the cake,” says Parasuram.
Mahesh Babu plays a moneylender called Mahi in the film, while
Keerthy Suresh essays the role of Kalaavathi, a gambling addict. The film dwells on the topic of bad loans being forced upon the working class whenever they defer from payment of their dues. “The audience connected with the core issue that was explored in the film because it’s so relatable. Mahesh’s one-liners with
Vennela Kishore are a hit, but most of all, people have loved the chemistry between Mahesh and Keerthy Suresh in the film.”
Producer
Naveen Yerneni agrees, “Our phones have not stopped buzzing because the openings are unbelievable, and that’s without taking the weekend into account. We’re confident it’ll do well in the next few weeks too.” Calling this a film that’s best enjoyed on the big screen, producer
Ravi Shankar says, “The audience’s response has been heart-warming. We plan to remake the film in other languages, too.”
Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar, Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus Entertainment and GMB Entertainment, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is running in theatres.
