One of the leading OTT platforms took to its Instagram page on Sunday (March 3) to announce the surprising news. While sharing a romantic picture of Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi from the movie, the platform wrote, "A journey across borders, a story beyond limits. Watch Thandel, out March 7 on Netflix in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam!" Fans were eager to watch the movie on OTT, expressing their love in the comments section.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, 'Thandel' is inspired by a real-life incident involving fishermen from Srikakulam who unintentionally crossed into Pakistani waters while on a fishing expedition near Gujarat. The film also features Prakash Belawadi, Aadukalam Naren, Karunakaran, and Kalpalatha in significant roles.

According to Sacnilk, 'Thandel' has collected Rs 88.25 crore globally, with Rs 65.49 crore coming from domestic earnings. However, the film’s production team claims that it has surpassed Rs 100 crore worldwide.

On February 16, the film’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle celebrated its success. Thandel became Chaitanya’s first film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark, following a rough patch at the box office with 'Thank You' and 'Custody'.
