Music is always an integral part of Indian cinema and will continue to be. More often than not, good music also brings people to the theatres. In 2023, music directors like Anirudh Ravichander, Thaman, and Hesham Abdul Wahab treated their fans with a bunch of hit songs. It ruled social media and music streaming platforms since the release of the movies. As 2024 is almost near, we can have a look at the previous year and the music directors who made it unforgettable for us.

Music director Thaman made 2023 memorable with his promising composition in the Thalapathy Vijay starrer ‘Varisu’. The song ‘Ranjithame’ from ‘Varisu' ruled social media since its release, almost crossing 200 million views on YouTube. Thaman is once again taking it to the headlines with a ‘Kurchi Madathapetti’ song from the Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Guntur Kaaram’. The song is one of the most exciting special number songs of 2024.

Anirudh Ravichander surprised his fans and listeners in 2023 by giving life-like tracks to three blockbuster hits, ‘Jawan’, ' Leo, 'Jailer'. . The 'Naa ready tha’ song from this Vijay starrer 'Leo' crossed 44 million views on the internet, and the other two tracks ‘Ordinary person’, ‘Badass’ could lead the online music streaming platforms with a trending count of views as well. It was the same effort for Rajinikanth Starrer ‘Jailer’ and Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’. Kaavaala song from Jailer and 'Chaleya' song from Jawan were nothing but trendsetters in 2023. He is expected to compose music for Jr NTR starrer Devara in 2024.

His electrifying as well as traditional musical tracks from ‘RRR’ and 'Baahubali' were nothing but a milestone in South Indian music. In 2024, Keeravani is promised to meet the hype with Nagarjuna starrer ‘Naa Saami ranga’.

Music director Hesham Abdul Wahab had a noticeable success in 2023 with Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer ‘Kushi’ and Nani starrer ‘Hi Nanna’. ‘Na roja nuvve’ and ‘Aradhya’ from ‘Kushi’ were quite a soothing experience and have crossed 134 million and 24 million views on YouTube, respectively. 'Hi Nanna' starring Nani and Mrunal Thakur treated fans with two evergreen tracks ‘Odiyamma’ and ‘Samayam’ crossing around 2 million and 20 million views on YouTube, respectively.

In 2023, Devi Sri Prasad had a promising project in Mega Star Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veerayya.' 'Boss Party' and 'Neekemo Andamekkuva' were two successful compositions in this movie. 'Neekemo Andamekkuva' crossed 27 million views on YouTube. Devi Sri Prasad amazed Tollywood with his talented musical skills in ‘Pushpa.’ In 2021, Allu Arjun starrer 'Pushpa' had two amazing tracks, including Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Saami Saami’ and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s mesmerizing ‘Oo Antava Oo Antava’ song. 'Srivalli' and 'Saami Saami' songs crossed around 600 million views on YouTube, and 'Oo Antava' crossed 300 million views.
