Telugu remake of Sarvam 'Thaala Mayam' to release on March 8

The Telugu remake of acclaimed Tamil flick

Sarvam Thaala Mayam

is scheduled to release on March 8. Directed by Rajiv Menon, the film features GV Prakash and Aparna Balamurli in lead roles. The musical, which is also being screened at Tokyo International Film Festival is set to be released in AP and Telangana, announced Rajiv Menon “The wait is over #STMTelugu #Sarvamthaalamayam will be releasing on 8th March in multiplexes near you in AP and Telangana (sic),” the filmmaker tweeted.

Sarvam Thaala Mayam focuses on the caste system as well as struggles of outsiders in the world of

carnatic music

. The film's story revolves around a character named Peter Johnson, who is an ambitious and an aspiring musician from a lower caste who goes to a prominent musician and convinces him to teach him Mrudangam.

Legendary composer AR Rahman has delivered the music for this film.
