A slew of upcoming films have the heroines playing reporters. And going by this trend, looks like they have a story to tell.
KRITI SANON
Making her much-anticipated acting debut opposite Mahesh Babu in the Telugu movie, One, Kriti Sanon, will be playing a news correspondent.The makers of the movie have closely guarded the look of the leading lady. According to reports, Kriti has a good scope to perform in her debut, which is an action entertainer.
CHARMME After playing several women-centric roles, actor Charmme will be essaying the character of a TV correspondent in her forthcoming film, Prathighatana directed by Thammareddy Bharadwaja. Charmme���s role in the political drama is said to be one of the most powerful roles she has essayed so far in her career. Talking more about her character, Charmme says, ���I was very excited about my role after listening to the script. Playing a journalist has been an eye-opening experience. I���m confident that my character will be appreciated.
HANSIKA MOTWANI Hansika will be seen playing a journalist in her forthcoming film, Biriyani. The actor, who���ll essay the character of Priyanka, a television reporter in Venkat Prabhu���s directorial, says she is ���excited to play a reporter for the first time.��� Speaking on playing a journalist, Hansika says, ���I have great respect for the profession (journalism) and I always knew playing a reporter was a tough job. After stepping into their shoes, albeit through a role, my respect for journalists has increased. I was extremely careful about the part and have also done a fair bit of research for it.���
TAAPSEE PANNU In her recent big screen release, Arrambam, Taapsee Pannu was seen playing a TV journalist. The svelte actress, who essayed the role of Anitha in the action entertainer, won accolades for her performance. Incidentally, Taapsee wanted to be a journalist in real life. And as luck would have it, she got a chance to exhibit her ���journalistic abilities��� on screen. To play the role with conviction, the Delhi-based actress closely observed a few popular TV journalists.
KAVYA SHETTY Making her Tollywood debut opposite Navdeep, actress Kavya Shetty will be seen as a journalist named Mitra in a thriller directed by Sai Gokul Ramnath. The Bangalore-based model, whose Kannada film was well received, said that she was all excited to essay the character of a reporter in the film.
