Telugu Film director 'Kalatapasvi' K. Viswanath conferred with Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2016

Kasinadhuni Viswanath or K. Viswanath Telugu film director and actor conffered Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2016. Director Dr. K. Viswanath, is one of the best directors the Telugu Film Industry has produced.
Viswanath was born to Sri Kasinadhuni Subrahmanyam and Sri Kasinadhuni Saraswatamma. He hails from Peddapulivarru, near Tenali in Andhra Pradesh. His hometown is Vijayawada. Viswanath began his career as a technician in a studio at Chennai and later assisted Mr.Adurti Subba Rao in direction. He debuted as a director with 'Aatma Gowravam', which starred Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
Notable feature of Viswanath's films is that all of them are wholesome family entertainers. He stuck to his style, in spite of a few commercial setbacks. This has earned him and his films, a respectability. Viswnath's skill as a director is unparalleled in the industry. The various scenes in 'Sankarabharanam', the climax in 'Saptapadi', the incidents leading up to the romance between Jayaprada and Kamal Hasan in 'SagaraSangamam', the manner in which Moon Moon Sen shows the beauty of nature to a blind man in 'Sirivennela', the way in which Bhanupriya comes to realize the significance of dance in her life in 'Swarna Kamalam' are all but a few examples of his directorial skill. Viswanath's penchant for subjects centered around music and dance, 'Sankarabharanam', the internationally acclaimed film, brought him great fame as a director of art films.
Vishwanath also made significant contributions on the social front with films like 'Saptapadi', 'Swathi Muthyam', 'Swayam Krushi' ,'Subhodayam' ,'Subhalekha', 'Aapadhbhaandhavudu', and 'Subha Sankalpam'.
Swathi Muthyam was India's official entry to the Oscars in 1986. Viswanath was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contributions to Indian film.
Mr.Viswanath is married to Jayalakshmi. The couple have three children,Padmavathi Devi,Nagendranath ,Ravinadranath .
Viswanath also ventured into mainstream acting recently in Tamil like 'Kuruthi Puna','Kakkai ChiraginileMugavari Bhagavathy','Pudiya'.
