Reports suggest that actor Tamannaah has been approached to play yesteryear actress Jamuna in the biopic.
Yesteryear actors have a special place in the hearts of movie lovers. That is why the filmmakers are making a series of biopics based on the life of former stars. Everyone knows how the biopic of Savitri entertained the audience. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Mahanati starred Keerthy Suresh in the titular role. The biopic not only received critical acclaim but also broke box office records.

Tamannaah as Jamuna
If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, a biopic on the iconic yesteryear actor Jamuna is on the cards. According to the reports, a popular Telugu filmmaker has initiated talks with Jamuna to get her nod on the biopic. Reportedly, Tamannaah Bhatia has been approached to play the titular character, and if everything goes as per plan, she might give her nod soon. The makers of the project are yet to make any official announcement. Sources say that Sivanagu of Devineni fame will be helming the film and has recently narrated the script to Tamannaah.

Iconic yesteryear leading actress Jamuna
Jamuna was one of the most wanted actresses during her heydays as a heroine. She had acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films and has around 200 movies to her credit. She ruled the Telugu film industry for more than three decades. Jamuna made her debut with a film titled Puttillu, which released in 1952. Some of his best works are Bangaru Papa, Mattilo Manikyam, Atta O Kodalu, Bandipotu Dongalu, Ramu, Poola Rangadu, Leta Manasulu, Thodu Needa, Ramudu Bheemudu, Mooga Manasulu to name a few. Jamuna is essaying a crucial role in the upcoming film Annapurnammagari Manavadu.

Tamannaah as Jwala Reddy in Seetimaarr
Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia is waiting for the release of Seetimaarr, directed by Sampath Nandi. The actress will be seen playing a kabbadi player Jwala Reddy in the film. Starring Gopichand in the lead, the film is scheduled to release on April 2, 2021. Bankrolled by Srinivasaa Silver Screen, the film also features Digangana Suryavanshi, Bhumika Chawla, Rahman, Tarun Arora, Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani and Preethi Asrani in important roles. The teaser of the movie was released on Feb 22 and was well-received by the audience. Soundarrajan has been roped in to take care of the camera work, while Tammiraju will be taking care of editing. It has music by Mani Sharma.

Tamannaah in Andhadhun Telugu remake
The actress is also a part of Andhadhun Telugu remake, Satya Dev starrer Gurthunda Seethakalam, Anil Ravipudi’s F3: Fun and Frustration, Hindi film Bole Chudiyan. Starring Nithiin and Nabha Natesh, the film is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi of Venkatadri Express fame. The Nithiin starrer is the Telugu remake of acclaimed Bollywood hit, Andhadhun, starring Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana and Radhika Apte. Nithiin’s Sreshth Movies will bankroll the Andhadhun remake.

Tamannaah roped in to reprise Harika in F2 sequel
F3 features Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Mehreen Pirzada and Sunil. The film has been produced by Dil Raju under his home banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Gurthunda Seethakalam, also starring Megha Akash, Kavya Shetty and Suhasini Maniratnam is directed by Nagasekhar and produced by Nagashekar Movies banner. It tells the story of a middle-aged software engineer, who sustains several heartbreaks in his quest to find his true love. The film marks the first time collaboration between Satya Dev and Tamannaah.
