Sundeep’s next with Tamannaah will be on the lines of La La Land

Sundeep’s next with Tamannaah will be on the lines of La La Land
Sundeep Kishan has his hands full at the moment. The ace actor has three films in his kitty — Suseenthiran’s C/o Surya, Manjula’s directorial venture opposite Amyra Dastur and an untitled rom-com that marks filmmaker Kunal Kohli’s Tollywood debut — and in each of them, his characters promise to offer something different to the audience.
In C/o Surya, he plays a middle-class guy, who runs a catering company.

Sundeep says his character sketch is in this one is in stark contrast with that in the other films. “Manjula’s film is a love story, an urban upper-middle class slice-of-life love story. I play an aspiring photographer and the story is set in Goa, although we shot a few sequences in Kerala as well. The way Manjula has explored Goa for this film, I don’t think anybody has. Even my look has been kept classy,” he says.
Sundeep believes the slice-of-life love story will connect with the youth. “Honestly, I feel every love story is the same; what makes it different are the moments and emotions that one connects with. So, in that sense, this film is fresh in terms of story and visuals, given the beautiful locales of Goa and Kerala. I am sure everyone will relate to it to as everyone goes through such emotions in life. It’s very real,” he adds.
Kohli’s film will also see him play an urban role, but with a difference. “My character in this film is very different from what you have seen in my last few movies. I play a sophisticated guy, who is born and raised in London. He is impatient and wants everything instantly in life, exactly like guys of today’s generation are,” asserts Sundeep, adding that he cannot disclose details about his look, but emphasises it will be “very stylish”.
Tamannaah has been paired opposite him in the film. “It’s a legit rom-com and the chemistry between the lead characters will be a treat for the audience. It’s like a battle of the sexes, on the lines of La La Land. And there’ll be funny fighting instances between the two,” says Sundeep, signing off.
