Sundeep Kishan's restaurant faces food safety violations amidst controversy

Telugu actor Sundeep Kishan recently found himself embroiled in a controversy when the Telangana Commissioner of the Food Safety Department discovered multiple safety violations at his restaurant, Vivaha Bhojanambu. The inspection, conducted on July 8, 2024, revealed several breaches of food safety regulations.

The inspection team found that 25 kilos of Chitti Muthyalu rice, which was supposed to be consumed before 2022, was still being used. Additionally, 500 grams of grated coconut containing synthetic food colours were also discarded. These findings have raised serious concerns about the safety and hygiene standards maintained at the establishment.

Now, Sundeep Kishan addressed the issue, emphasizing that the restaurant's reputation remains intact. Sundeep questioned why they would risk their reputation and engage in minor fraud when they were already donating a substantial amount of food.

As per a Gulte report, he said, "From each of the seven outlets of Vivaha Bhojanambu, we donate nearly 50 food packets every day. That makes 350 free food packets every day and even if it costs us Rs. 50/packet, that would be more than Rs. 4 lakh donation a month. When we are donating Rs. 4 lakhs worth of food free, why would we indulge in saving a rice packet that costs a few bucks?".

He also mentioned that the restaurant saw higher-than-usual billing after the raid, suggesting that customers still trust the quality of food offered at Vivaha Bhojanambu.
