Sukumar calls Ram Charan's performance in 'Game Changer' National Award worthy

Director Sukumar lauded Ram Charan's performance in the upcoming political drama 'Game Changer' after a special screening, comparing it to Shankar's classics. He predicted a National Award for Charan, echoing his previous sentiment for 'Rangasthalam'. The film, releasing this Sankranti 2025, features Charan in a dual role as an IAS officer fighting corruption, alongside Kiara Advani.

Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer political drama film, 'Game Changer', is set to release on January 10, 2025, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. The director of the recent pan-India 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', Sukumar shared the first review of the film after watching it at a pre-release event in Dallas where he was invited as a chief guest.
During the event, Sukumar shared that he had viewed 'Game Changer' alongside veteran actor Chiranjeevi and also expressed his enthusiasm for the film, stating that both the first half and the interval were "mind-blowing." Sukumar was particularly impressed by a flashback sequence in the second half, calling it "phenomenal" and noting that it left him stunned.

Sukumar further said, "I enjoyed it as much as Shankar’s Gentleman and Bharateeyudu (Indian)." He also mentioned that Ram Charan's performance in this film might finally earn him the National Award that many believed he deserved for his role in 'Rangasthalam'. Sukumar recalled how he had been confident about Charan winning the award for that film and felt a similar emotional impact from Charan's portrayal in 'Game Changer'.

In this political drama film, directed by Shankar, Ram Charan plays an IAS officer who takes on a corrupt political system. The 'RRR' star will also be playing a dual role in the film. Kiara Advani stars as his love interest and is also said to be playing a fellow IAS officer, while SJ Suryah plays a significant role. The film also includes Anjali, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Naveen Chandra in key supporting roles.

Till now the makers have released songs and a teaser of the film. The film will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
